A recent study, published in Obesity Research, found that people who got more calcium actually lost more weight and fat than others eating the same number of calories. The study divided people into three groups; those that consumed 400-500mg of calcium per day; those that consumed 800mg per day; and lastly those that consumed 1200-1300mg per day. At the end of the sixth month study, the people who consumed 1200-1300mg of calcium per day lost more weight than the other two groups.

Also, another study showed that calcium supplements reduced the risk of colon polyps, precursors of colon cancer.
